There's something oddly gratifying about reading a brand new book for free.
A title you're interested in, but the tightwad in you refuses to buy it until after all avenues have been exhausted.
First, you check The Local Library.
Not there.
Then you search The Other Local Library.
Also not there.
And you comb through all the other libraries affiliated to The Local Library AND The Other Local Library.
Zilch.
Zero.
Zippo.
Nil.
Nada.
Null.
So, you give it one last go by putting in a purchase recommendation to The Librarian hoping that he/she would see eye to eye on the benefits of such acquisition.
And lo and behold, a couple of weeks later, they call and tell you that the book is ready for collection.
And when you finally hold the book in your hand, you can't help but go,"Yay! First to read! No need to pay!"
God. I love the cheapskate in me.
